100% Angolan Coffee. Rooted in Angola, close to its people.
Cafrica was founded on a simple belief: Angolan coffee deserves its place among the best in the world again.
In the 1970s, Angola was one of the largest coffee producers on the planet, and its beans were prized far beyond its borders. Decades of instability left many plantations abandoned. Today Angolan coffee is being rebuilt, and Cafrica is part of that revival. We are working to bring Angolan coffee back to where it once stood, and beyond.
From our land to your cup
Cafrica works at every step of the journey, from the farm to the finished cup.
3000+ smallholder producers
We buy coffee from more than 3,000 small-scale farmers in Uíge, Huambo, Cuanza Norte and Cuanza Sul.
2 farms of our own
2 processing facilities
In Uíge and Gabela we dry, hull and store some of Angola's finest coffee.
Exported worldwide
Our coffee goes to Germany, Spain, Portugal, Poland and Vietnam, and now to the Middle East.
Our coffee is hand-picked, naturally processed and sun-dried. We focus on Robusta from Amboim and Ambriz, two regions with a long coffee tradition and a distinctive flavour, along with a high-altitude Arabica from Andulo in Bié.
What we stand for
Regenerative farming
Our partner farms use organic, shade-grown methods that protect birds and local biodiversity. We conserve soil and water, and we farm without chemicals.
Fair Trade
We pay our farmers at or above market rates.
Equal Opportunity
We partner with women-led cooperatives and employ women to help close economic gaps.
Radical Transparency
Every batch of beans can be traced back to the land where it was grown.
Rooted in Community
When you choose Cafrica, you invest in the families and neighbourhoods that grow our coffee.
A share of every sale funds community projects in coffee-growing regions, such as schools, meals and medical clinics. We provide micro-finance throughout the year so farmers have stable, predictable incomes, and we use our distribution network to deliver medicine, farm equipment and warm clothing to small producers.
In Nova Ereira, Gabela, where one of our farms is located, we distributed solar lanterns to a community without electricity. Children can now study after dark, and families and small traders can keep working into the evening. With local partners, we also helped hold the community's first Health Fair, where more than 500 people, many of them children, received medical care, polio and tetanus vaccinations, and malaria and tuberculosis testing.
Our coffees
From whole bean and ground coffees like Ouro Negro, Pérola Negra and Arábica, to instant blends and ready-to-drink canned coffees, every Cafrica product is 100% Angolan.
MAFCOM
Part of the Mafcom Group
Cafrica is part of the Mafcom Group, the Angolan food group behind Alimo, "a marca do coração." Since 2011, Alimo has grown to over 140 products sold in three countries, and it was named an Angola Superbrand in 2022. Cafrica shares the group's commitment to local production, Angolan growth and giving back to the communities that make our work possible.
We belive in a supply chain rooted in respect, fairness, and accountability.
